Cleaning out
So we met with a realtor this past week to discuss getting Chateau vB on the market.
It was a great meeting, but a bit overwhelming at the same time. We have approximately 6 weeks to check off everything on the To-Do list. {Said list includes tiling, painting, landscaping, trim work, drywall, de-cluttering, more painting, and staging. } Looks like Mr. vB and I will be pulling some late nights and full weekends to make our deadline of May 1st.
So today I took the plunge and started the de-cluttering process. First up was the pantry.
It’s such a great big old space, but over time it had accumulated quite a bunch of stuff.
So I took everything out that was not a food item and put it all on the dining room table. Then from the table I made 3 piles- Trash, Goodwill and Storage. I wish I had taken a photo for you. It was nap time so I was rushing to get it done before my little helper woke up, but it was a Big Ol Mess!!
The majority of the stuff ended up in the Goodwill pile and then straight into the back of my car!
Here’s what the pantry looks like now.
Better, but I still have some work to do.
Tomorrow I am going to dig into the bedroom closets while Mr. vB tackles tiling the 1/2 bath floor.
If anyone out there in blog land is bored and/or has a thing for going through other people’s junk give us a shout! We could use the help! De-Junking the Basement is up next!
A Much Needed Face-Lift
Hey ya’ll..
Remember waaaa-yyyy back when I posted about our 2011 Home DIY Resolutions??
Resolution 9 was to fix the leak in the porch soffit, repaint the railings and trim, and fix the cement stairs.
It took a year to get around to it, but I’m exciited to report that the front exterior finally got that much needed face lift.
Here’s the before:
It was really starting to look a bit run down and quite frankly EMBARASSING!!
During the Demo:
During the rebuild:
And it’s FINISHED!
Nice, right? Now I just need to work on the flower beds and our Curb Appeal should be complete!
Thanks to Nick Hardesty of Hardesty Construction for making the transformation happen.
